Privacy Policy

Destined asks for your birth details — the date, time and place you were born — because that is what a natal chart is built from. That is sensitive information, and this page explains exactly what we collect, why we need it, who it reaches, and how you get it removed.

What we collect

When you calculate a chart or join as a member, we collect:

• Your name — used to personalise your chart and readings.
• Your email address — used to deliver readings, match notifications and connection requests.
• Your birth date, birth time and birth city — required to calculate your natal chart. Your birth city is converted into coordinates and a timezone so planetary positions can be computed accurately.
• Gender, who you are seeking, and age ranges — used only to decide which members you can be matched with.

We do not ask for your address, phone number, or government identification, and we never collect payment card numbers — those go directly to Stripe and are never seen by or stored on our servers.

Why we need your birth time

Your Ascendant changes sign roughly every two hours, and your house placements shift with it. Without a birth time we can still calculate your planets, but the houses of love — the 5th, 7th and 11th — become unreliable. If you do not know your exact time, you can tick "I don't know my exact birth time" and we will calculate what we can without guessing.

How your information is used

• To calculate and display your natal chart.
• To compare your chart against other members' charts and produce compatibility scores.
• To generate written readings you have purchased.
• To email you your readings, your matches, and connection requests from other members.

We do not sell your data, we do not rent it to advertisers, and we do not use your birth details for anything other than astrology and matching inside Destined.

What other members can see

Other members can see your first name, your astrological placements, and your compatibility score with them. Your email address and your exact birth time are never shown to other members. A connection is only opened when both people agree to it.

Services we rely on

Destined is built on a small number of third-party services, and your data touches them only as needed:

• Supabase — the database where member records and charts are stored.
• Stripe — processes payments for readings and compatibility reports. Stripe receives your email and the amount charged; we never receive your card details.
• Anthropic — generates the written text of your reading from your chart placements. Readings are generated on request and are not used to train models.
• Resend — delivers our emails to your inbox.
• Google Analytics — measures anonymous traffic, such as how many people visit a page. It does not receive your birth details.

How long we keep it

We keep your record for as long as your account exists. If you ask us to delete it, we remove your member record, your chart, and your match history. Purchase records are kept where we are legally required to retain them for tax and accounting purposes.

Your choices

You can ask us at any time to show you the data we hold on you, correct it if your birth details were entered wrongly, or delete your account entirely. Email us and we will action it.

Age requirement

Destined is for adults. You must be 18 or older to calculate a chart or become a member. If we learn that someone under 18 has registered, we delete the record.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will email members directly rather than relying on you to notice.
